America used to be about family and friends.
Americans used to care about other Americans.
Nationalism used to mean patriotism not fascism
Americans used to respect history. Americans can celebrate American resiliency and mourn American wrongs. Not hide them or segregate them.
America used to have borders and welcomed the “tired, the poor, the huddled masses yearning to breathe free”.
America used to have a culture. Not a racial segregated culture, but an American culture.
Immigrants were once expected to adopt American culture. If they wanted to be here, they wanted to be an American.
